Before she destroys the world.

My Review:

I absolutely loved the first book in this series, Wanderlove and Foretell was just as enchanting and intriguing! I have fallen into this world of gypsies that Malory has created and I don't want go find my way out! Read book one and you will fly just as quickly through this second book!  I love and applaud Essie's character and her courage and honor she displayed throughout the entire book. What an amazing main character! And Rex, watch out baby because he is hot and has some serious baggage! But his kindness and chivalry outweighed his ego! I love how Malory wove the first and second books together and the "aha" moment when you realize how it all comes together! This is a fantastic series that I would recommend to any YA reader, I loved it!

Happy Reading!!!

Side note:  This is a series I found and purchased on my own. No author or publisher sent it for review, it is just awesome and I loved it and found it on my accord :)

Losing the Ice (Ice Series) by Jennifer Comeaux, New Release and Review!

Blurb:

Courtney and Josh are in love and excited to finally compete as skating partners. When they take the ice for their first competition, they want to show everyone, especially Josh's family, they are the perfect pair. But ice is slippery, and one misstep puts all their dreams in jeopardy. Now they must show each other both their love and their partnership are strong enough to survive.

My Review:

Comeaux has done if again with a great addition to the Ice Series! I rooted for Court and Josh in the first book and in this book I really got to know them! Court amazed me with her level of patience and kindness. It was refreshing to have a main character with great qualities including selflessness. She really cared about Josh, not just their skating career. Josh's part to the story was unbelievable to say the least. I won't spoil it so go pick up a copy and read it for yourself! I look forward to more books by Comeaux!

Happy Reading!!!

My Review:

Vayden has written a powerful, gripping and emotional story in Whispered Lies. She tells a story of heartache, loss, tragedy and then shows how one can take that pain and turn it into good. Words are inadequate to express the depth of emotion she was able to convey through her characters. I seriously could not stop reading it once I started. Alder, Jayne and Raphael...their stories are unlike anything I have read. At one point I wanted to throw my kindle at the wall I was so upset! But Vayden, the master story teller that she is, brings everything full circle. I don't want to give anything away, so just buy the book. It will take you on a journey unlike anything you have been on before, not even close to something you can imagine. The pain, the loss, the heartache, how can you move on from that? Vayden tells that story beautifully!

Rating: moderate cussing and clean in the romance department

Excerpt

Alder   The next afternoon as three rolled around, I tapped my foot nervously and waited for Jayne to arrive. After scanning the new crowd of students who’d entered the commons, my gaze greedily took in her heart-shaped face and wide smile that grew as soon as she spotted me. Me. It was amazing to consider, yet, as wondrous as it was, it was fake — false and a hell of a deception on my part. But that she wanted to be around me, that she liked me was a drug I couldn’t reject. I knew that someday soon I’d have to do it, make the clean break and walk away, but I couldn’t do it, not yet, not when I had heaven so close. “You ready?” I stood and asked. “Yep.” Her beauty was constantly overwhelming. From her clear eyes, filled with wonder and delight to the perfect shape that God blessed with every tempting curve. But what captivated me was her inner strength, her passion for life, and the innocent nature with which she attacked it. “Let me take that for you.” I held out my hand, waiting for her to give me the pink backpack she carried. “Really?” She cocked a skeptical brow. “No, I’m offering so I can leave it here.” I replied sarcastically. Wiggling my fingers I enticed her to hand it over. “Well thanks.” She handed it over, her gaze softening. “Real men wear pink.” I hitched the carnation-pink bag over my shoulder. She giggled as we made our way out of the commons. Glancing at me shyly, she nodded to the pack. “It looks good on you.” “I know,” I shot back. “So, where are we going?” “Didn’t we cover this? Nosey equals…” I let it linger, teasing her. “Annoying. I remember. Fine.” “Where are you parked?” I asked as we made it to the parking lot. “Over there.” We headed to her car, and I waited for her to pop the trunk. Then I placed both bags in and closed it. “Ready?” “Always.” “Okay, it’s not far. Want to walk?” “Sure.” Her smile was as warm as the summer sun, melting away the quiet whispers that tried to remind me how I was playing with fire. Swallowing hard, we walked a few steps, and I reached out and grasped her hand. Lame. I couldn’t believe it was such a huge step for me to simply hold her hand. But it was. It was the world, literally in the palm of my hand. Her grasp was immediate, and as I glanced at her, a beautiful rosy blush graced her cheeks, highlighting her already stunning beauty. We made our way to the small ice cream parlor on the edge of campus and, true to form, I ordered Neapolitan, and Jayne ordered the strawberry cheesecake flavor. When she pulled out some cash from her pocket, I frowned at her. “No… girls don’t pay.” “Girls don’t pay?” she asked, her expression a question almost as if she were debating whether to be impressed or offended. “Out of respect.” I shrugged and paid for our order then walked to a side table. “Respect?” she asked, her expression open. “Yeah, I know you could pay for it. It’s not that I doubt that… it’s that as a guy, it’s an… honor to take care of a woman.” “Oh, wow.” She tilted her head and studied me. Then she took a bite of her ice cream. “How old are you Alder?” “Uh, I’m twenty-three. Why? How old are you, Jayne,” I teased, hoping she couldn’t sense my discomfort. “Twenty. It’s just that you seem… older. You know? It’s… nice.” “Nice? Okay, has no one ever told you that guys hate to be called nice? It’s like saying a girl has a great personality.” I held up imaginary quotes. “Hey!” She tossed her napkin at me. “I happen to have a great personality.” “Yes, yes you do. But that’s not all you’ve got going for you. But I must say, the whole great personality part is one of my favorite aspects.” I winked. “Look at you, turning something I should be ticked over into a compliment.” She replied while narrowing eyes, studying me. “I try.” “Yeah, well, keep your charm in check.” “Yes ma’am,” I teased and took a big bite of ice cream, letting the cool sweetness distract me from the temptation she presented. We talked for at least an hour. And that was where it started. It seemed like as much as I knew our relationship couldn’t go anywhere, I couldn’t stop taking hit after hit, moment after moment with her. With each study date we’d have, or short walk from one class to another, I’d tell myself that I’d just commit every second to memory so that when I faded away, out of her life, I’d still have those precious smiles, those captivating expressions she’d flash when something amused her, or the light of intelligence that illuminated her amber gaze. I was in deeper than ever before. Because I’d loved Jayne when I’d just been the creepy stalker, in Raphael’s words, but now that I was actually with her, it was a million times worse. About two weeks after spending every available moment with her, I found myself at the center, beating the shit out of the boxing bag, fighting myself, trying to justify my actions. “What to talk about it?” Raphael’s voice asked quietly as he went behind the bag and held it for me. “I’m in deep,” I whispered then spun and kicked the bag. “You still seeing her?” he asked, knowing the answer. “Yeah.” “It’s like you’re willingly being drawn and quartered.” He sighed. “It’s not that I think so little of Jayne that she’d never forgive you… but even if she did, man… it wouldn’t ever be the same. You know that, right?” “I do. I know it all, Raphael, Okay? I know it so well that I’ve freaking stopped sleeping at night, knowing that I have to let go, but I don’t want to. I want her… I want this so badly.” My chest constricted, like I had been holding my breath for far too long. “For the first time in so long, I’m at a place where I’m actually proud of who I’m becoming… and that guy is the one who’s totally winning her heart… but I don’t have a freaking chance of a snowball in hell because of the past I can’t escape. It’s so… screwed up.” “No argument there. This is messed up in a way that’s… I don’t even know, man. But… you gotta let it go.” Raphael came around the bag and put his hand on my shoulder. “I know. If it were just me who would end up bleeding, I’d live every last moment till I bled dry, but it’s not just me.” “No, it’s not, dude. It’s her. And if you really love her like you say…” He let the thought linger. “Then I’ll think of what’s best for her rather than what I want,” I finished, feeling like I was slowly sliding a dull knife through my heart. “Love doesn’t take,” Raphael said. “It gives.” And I was pretty sure the price would kill me, ripping what was left of my soul from my body.

My Review:

I was immediately pulled into the world of the realm and into Anima's life. Ravanera beautifully constructed an entire world that I could not get enough of! The beautiful dream weavers, the mysterious queen, the handsome and well built sentry and the elders. Pilots and harvesters, the entire world entranced me and I found myself flipping through the pages as quickly as I could read them! There were so many twists, turns and surprises which I enjoyed, I never quite knew what was going to happen next!

I NEED THE SECOND BOOK NOW!!! If the story wasn't so magnificent I would be really ticked about the cliffhanger! Buy this book! It is fantasy, paranormal, romance, action....you name it, Dreamweavers has it! The way Ravanera emoted her characters so well is amazing! This book makes you feel right along with the characters! An amazing journey I wish had never ended Dreamweavers is a book I will be thinking about for a long time to come!

One Woman. Two Men.

One stirs her pulse and the other her faith.

But who will win her heart?

Marceline Murphy is a gentle beauty with a well-founded aversion to rogues. But when two of Boston's most notorious pursue her, she encounters a tug-of-war of the heart she isn’t expecting. Sam O’Rourke is the childhood hero she’s pined for, the brother of her best friend and a member of the large, boisterous family to which she longs to be a part. So when his best friend Patrick O’Connor joins in pursuit of her affections, the choice seems all too clear. Sam is from a family of faith and Patrick is not, two rogues whose wild ways clash head-on with Marcy’s—both in her faith and in her heart.

While overseeing the Christmas play fundraiser for the St. Mary’s parish soup kitchen—A Light in the Window—Marcy not only wrestles with her attraction to both men, but with her concern for their spiritual welfare. The play is based on the Irish custom of placing a candle in the window on Christmas Eve to welcome the Holy Family, and for Marcy, its message becomes deeply personal. Her grandmother Mima cautions her to guard her heart for the type of man who will respond to the "light in the window," meaning the message of Christ in her heart. But when disaster strikes during the play, Marcy is destined to discover the truth of the play’s message first-hand when it becomes clear that although two men have professed their undying love, only one has truly responded to “the light in the window.

Embark Talk on CD by John Bytheway Blog Tour

About this talk:

An ideal talk that supports the new 2015 Mutual theme!
In this motivating talk related to the 2015 youth theme, John Bytheway explains what it means to truly embark — to get fully on board in the service of God with all your heart, might, mind, and strength. Using scriptures, powerful stories, and his characteristic humor, John explains that with the Savior's help, we can remain on board and eventually stand blameless before God at the last day.

My Review:
I sat down to listen to this talk before Church one Sunday. Bytheway grabbed my attention from the beginning of his talk and held it raptly until the very end. At times I found myself laughing and at others I felt the Spirit so strongly! Most importantly, I felt motivated to get out and serve the Lord, to be who He wants me to be. Honestly I loved this talk so much that I suggested that the youth in our ward listen to it as a fireside! Whether you are an adult or a teen, age doesn't matter for this amazing motivational talk by Bytheway. His message is powerful and motivating for all who will take the time to listen!

About the Author:

Wedding Cake by Josi Kilpack, Blog Tour, Review & Giveaway

Wedding Cake (1)

Wedding Cake

Wedding Cake by Josi Kilpack

After years of mysteries, murder, and mayhem, the big day has arrived, and Sadie wants nothing more than for her wedding to Pete to be completely uneventful. When she receives a threatening, anonymous text message just days before the ceremony, she's determined not to let it interfere with the celebration she has carefully planned for months. But as the threat escalates from a distant fear to a frightening reality, Sadie realizes just how much she's underestimated the situation. Desperate to put an end to the games, lies, and manipulation that has shadowed her life, Sadie, her fiance, Pete, and her children pull out all the stops. What they don't know, however, is just how far Sadie's nemesis is willing to go to make good on the thread she made to Sadie three years ago. Will the wedding go off without a hitch, or will "'til death do us part" come far too soon? There's no turning back for anyone in the riveting conclusion to this twelve-volume culinary mystery series.

Excerpt:

Everyone was silent for a moment, then Malloy pulled himself up a bit straighter in his chair. “This is an investigation that is all about keeping your mother safe. To return home when we have expressly asked that she stay out of the way and allow us to do our job compromises her safety and—”
“Look,” Shawn said with a forced kind of calmness, zeroing his attention on Malloy. “We both appreciate what you’re doing but I think you’re forgetting that my mom isn’t some Sunday school teacher who doesn’t understand what’s what. In the last four years my mother has put over a dozen people in jail, found missing persons, discovered frauds, uncovered conspiracies, solved several murders, saved lives, and managed to break a few noses in the process. To not consider any of those things is . . . dumb, and with this threat being directly targeting her, I think she has the right to be heard in regard to how she would like to handle things. That she’s talking to you about this at all is merely because, at her core, my mother is a well-mannered woman. She doesn’t need your help—heck, she’s not even asking for your help—she’s simply asking that you support her instincts which have proven to be right time and time again.”
Sadie blinked back tears of pride and gratitude as the room reverberated in the silence left behind her son’s words. She had no idea he felt this way about the things she’d done these last years, especially since it was only six weeks ago that her skills were put to use poking around in his business, which he hadn’t liked very much. That he was proud of her and saw her as strong and capable was an enormous boost of confidence.
When no one spoke in the moments following Shawn’s monologue, he turned to her. “Are you coming with me, then?”

My Review:

I am so sad this series has finally come to an end, but what a way to go out!  Kilpack packs a punch in this final book of her culinary mystery series!  She has frosted off her series in a way I never thought possible and I finished the book with a huge smile on my face!  Everything comes full circle in Wedding Cake and I loved the reunion between the characters!(Well most of them anyway)Sadie is and always will be my favorite heroine of all time.  She is quirky, bold, emotional and full of great recipes!  I will miss her and this series dearly, but take comfort in the sweetness of this final book! This series remains one of my favorites of all time! I highly recommend the Culinary Mystery Series to any reader!  You will laugh, cry, and your heart will race...but you will love every minute of it!  Thank you Kilpack for taking me of this amazing journey with Sadie!

The thin line that existed was the tightrope I walked each day, yet like an addict I continued to push the limit, just waiting, hoping against the impossibility. Class ended and I stood up, still watching her from the corner of my eye. She was graceful in a way I doubted anyone else noticed. Every movement was a fluid part of the previous one that transitioned effortlessly into the second, the third till her every motion became part of the dance. The rest of the day went by like a boring litany that continued forever. I tapped my pen on my notebook and then realized the professor was glaring at me. Setting it down I turned my attention to the clock, mentally calculating the seconds it would take till I was free. When class was finally released I was first out the door, my eyes scanning the crowd eagerly, searching for her.
After all, the heart always wants what it can never have.
I knew she'd never look at me twice.
But that didn't stop my heart from beating for her.
You see, I’m not the good guy.
On the outside, I might look like it, I might even smile at you.
But it’s a lie.
It’s all a lie.
There’s nothing redeemable about me.
Except for her.
But I’m the last person she’d ever want to be with.
Because I’m the reason he died. I’m at fault.
But she doesn’t know it was me.
Atonement is my only salvation.
Protecting her, because I finally fell.
And the monster she needed protection from…
Was me.
