Dreams of Gold (Book 1) by Kelsey MacBride, Book Review

In this first book, Brenda Wagner suffers a devastating accident during an ice skating competition. Her dreams of qualifying for the Olympic skating team are shattered when her doctor tells her she will never skate again, let alone walk like a normal person. Brenda refuses to accept her doctor’s diagnosis and struggles through physical therapy to regain the use of her legs. But progress is slow and Brenda fears she may never walk the same again. Almost a year later, to everyone’s surprise, Brenda has learned to walk by herself. Brenda has high hopes of returning to the ice. But Pamela, her skating coach, is skeptical and tells Brenda that she will coach Brenda only on one condition. That she skate with a partner who can work with her new disabilities. Brenda reluctantly agrees, knowing she has no other choice. But her new career in pairs skating takes on a new twist when she finds out Pamela has chosen her ex-fiancĂ© Scott Nichols as her new partner.

TEASER: “So this is what a Pearl-approved guy looks like.” She shook her head once and cracked a smile. “She’s got good taste, I’ll give her that. You’re an odd mix of sexy and adorable. Don’t see that often.”
I was a little taken aback by the compliment, if that’s even what it was. She may have just been stating what she considered to be fact. She laughed at my surprise and held out her hand to me. “Nice to meet you. I’m Jordan Kramer.”
I’d been afraid of that. “You’re a girl.”
Jordan laughed. “That’s what it says on my birth certificate, but I’m really glad you were able to figure it out without needing to read it.”
Nope. I definitely didn’t need that.

 My Review:

Honestly I was so shocked that the main character was a guy, A GUY!!!! It took about ten minutes for it to actually sink into my brain that I was following a guy's story and not a girl's! BUT, once it sunk in, I was into this story for the long haul! I loved every single moment of this book!!! Oram uses movie and song references throughout the entirety and it was awesome. It brought a smile to my face and helped me to really connect with the characters!

I loved each and every character, which seems impossible, especially with Sophie who was just awful! But I loved the part she played. I loved Jordan and her tiny movie -loving, ice cream eating, Ferrari driving self! Colin was a hilarious addition and he made me laugh! Nate and his brothers (triplets people, triplets !!!) were a special kind of crazy together. But Nate, oh sweet, kind, loyal and too good to be true Nate, his story is the one you follow and cannot get enough of. This would actually make an awesome movie! Oram has hit it out of the park with this one, it is a book you will pick up to read again and again!

Supremacy (A Valens Series Book 2) by Andy Lewter, Book Review

SUPREMACY: A Valens Series (book 2)

"After her experience during spring break, Abigail Everett battles to fill the role she inherited as the leader of Valens – people that possess unparalleled strength and dangerous mind powers.

Being forced to choose between what her heart wants and what is right, contending with captivating peer pressures, and nearing the brink of war, she must prove herself worthy. Not only to those who follow her legacy, but to herself.

Will she be able to stop this war before it begins?"

The key to Andy's heart is Harry Potter and doughnuts. Writing is her passion and any story with a fictional twist sparks her interest. She's always plotting twists in current and future stories, and is very excited about the works to come!

My Review:

Lewter kicks it into high gear for book number two in the Valens series! I felt like it was a whirlwind of action and emotions ran high. Literally!  Abby's character grew by leaps and bounds in this book. No longer able to just train, she has to step up and be the leader and decision maker. While I loved her so much in this book, my heart broke for the hole inside her aching heart. I am probably the one Nicholas fan out there, but darn it if I am not #teamnicholas all the way! Miles is a great guy, but come on, Nicholas is her other half for goodness sake! Let's hope that book three resolves this love triangle once and for all. If you are looking for a clean, action-packed novel, then Supremacy is just the book for you!

Happy Reading!!!

The Feisty One (A Billionaire Bride Pact Romance) by Cami Checketts, New Release & Review!!!

Book Summary:

Can he hide his heart or will the reporter take everything?
Maryn Howe isn’t intimidated by billionaire recluse, Tucker Shaffer, or his enormous log cabin in Island Park, Idaho. Maryn needs this interview and she’ll get it at any cost, even if the last four reporters were physically removed from his presence.
Tucker Shaffer has no desire to change his less than flattering public image; but his PR people persuade him to give it one more try. Ready to make nice with whoever comes through the door, Tucker is blindsided by a petite blond with an extra-large personality. As the snow piles up and the questions keep coming, Maryn discovers the secret Tucker Shaffer has spent the last four years torturing himself with. She suddenly sees him in a new light and she flees—right into danger and into Tucker’s arms.
But the danger has just begun and now Maryn has to make a choice—trust in Tucker or lose it all.

My Review:

The Feisty One is a fun and whirlwind story about Maryn a reporter, and Tucker the billionaire. The two meet when Maryn interviews Tucker at his cabin in Idaho. The story starts out with sparks and a bang from the get-go! It grabbed my attention and held it until I finished the story at midnight! I loved the twists, turns, and the gentleman that Tuck was. Maryn was so fun and refreshing as a main character! She said what she thought without reservation! I truly enjoyed every single second of this story, I was only sad when it was done! If you want a clean romance with plenty of sparks and a new book boyfriend, then The Feisty One is just the book for you! It is full of surprises and crazy things I will not spoil for you! It is a romantic adventure that I am really glad I took part in!

Happy Reading!!!
