An Unwitting Match (The Lockwood Family) by Laura Beers, Book Review
Book Summary:
Lady Edwina Lockwood grapples with the loss of her father when her cousin extends an invitation to Lord Hilgrove to visit Brockhall Manor. She intends to avoid this houseguest, but he quickly becomes a constant presence, much to her annoyance. Despite her initial reluctance, Edwina discovers she can offer support to Lord Hilgrove as he copes with his own grief.
Miles Burke, the Earl of Hilgrove, remains consumed by sorrow after losing his wife and brother nearly a year ago. Accepting the invitation to visit a friend seemed like a good idea at the time, but upon arrival, he immediately regrets it. The only bright spot is Lady Edwina, who offers him unexpected solace.
As Edwina and Miles spend more time together, they find comfort in each other’s company and begin to heal. Together, they unearth secrets that were meant to remain buried. Delving deeper into the mysteries surrounding them, Miles finds himself risking everything to protect her. But can he give her the one thing that she desires the most- his heart?

My Review:
This is the beginning of a new series and I am in for the long haul! I loved Edwina and Miles. Both dealing with their own grief, each one had to learn how to process and move forward. Grief is difficult and many readers can relate to that process. I loved the friendship that they built and the trust they had for each other. This story has secrets, villains, friendship, and love. Beers makes it all come together in one wonderful story! I loved the witty banter and the relationships between each family member. I look forward to reading book two! (Let’s hope it is Bennet’s story). I received a complimentary copy of this book; all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Happy Reading!!!
