Guest Post by Jessica Day George:
The Room You
Would Wish Castle Glower Would Make For You
I am really
hoping that if Castle Glower ever becomes real, it will really, really like
me. After all, I’m the one telling its
stories . . . there’s got to be some kind of awesome reward for that, right? So what I really, really want my reward from
Castle Glower to be is a sort of combination library and bakery. It would be full of books, first of all. Some of the books would be ones that I’d read
before and loved, and want to read again.
And some of the books will be new and wonderful. My room would have plenty of comfortable
sofas, big squishy chairs with matching footstools, and little tables to hold
treats. There will be plenty of lamps
with glass shades, and broad windows with velvet curtains. There would be cases of pastries, and cakes
on tall glass cake pedestals, and mismatched china plates and cups. And it would absolutely have a cocoa
machine. There would be a large balcony
that looked out over Sleyne valley, and had padded benches on it and an awning
to keep the sun from fading the books. This
room would be available only to me, and people that I specifically invited to
join me there. Every morning I would go
down a hallway, up a flight of stairs (for the exercise) and at the top would
be my room. I would sit all day and
drink cocoa and eat slices of fresh, cream-frosted chocolate cake and
read! Doesn’t that sound WONDERFUL?
