Her Billionaire Cowboy Doc by Dobi Daniels, Book Review

Book Summary:

She never thought running away from the paparazzi would send her straight into the arms of the cowboy she wants nothing to do with. Only ... he doesn’t remember her.
Ex-celebrity Rebecca Scott is only interested in keeping her daughter from the public eye and kickstarting her wedding planning business, after been dumped unceremoniously via social media.
ER doctor and cowboy billionaire Max Dexin just wants to build an ER center to support ranchers in his beloved valley and has no time for love after being jilted at the altar.
But when Rebecca lands in the ER where Max rescues her from the paparazzi, she couldn’t believe her bad luck in running into the one man she wants nothing with.
Except he doesn’t remember her.
As Becca is forced to leave town, and Max’s ranch is her best option to hide away, could true love spark between them or will old hidden memories destroy any chance of a happily-ever after?
This is a sweet/clean amnesia secret baby cowboy medical billionaire romance with no cliffhangers and a guaranteed HEA.

My Review:
I love a good clean romance novel and Daniels hit all the checkmarks with this one! Although this is the fifth book in a series, you do not need to have read them all, this can be read by itself. Becca and Max intrigued me from the beginning of the book and Daniels wasted no time in drawing the reader in. Max is a swoon worthy lead character and who wouldn't want a down-to-earth cowboy with a heart of gold? Uncovering their past is a journey of its own and it was emotional and intriguing watching it all unfold. If you like a good clean romance with depth, then you will love Her Billionaire Cowboy!

Love Sidelined by Tiffany Odekirk, LDS Book Review

Book Summary:

Jason Jennings made a tough call two years ago when he left behind his status as a
hard-partying star quarterback in order to serve the Lord. Recently returned from a mission now, he's ready to get back on the football field at UCAL. But despite turning his life around, his bad boy reputation is proving hard to shake.

Allie Hollis is everything a cheerleader should be--beautiful, outgoing, and smart--but her brilliant smile hides a devastating secret. So when Jason begins to show interest in her, there's no question: her answer is no.

Yet, in the face of Allie's chilly response, Jason's gentle persistence pays off, and a tentative friendship grows. Their chemistry is obvious, but Allie's determination to steer clear of a relationship with Jason goes deeper than he realizes. When the truth of her painful history comes to light, the couple must decide whether they will remain on the sidelines or jump back in the game of love.

My Review:

Loved Sidelined grabbed me from the first down and kept me reading all the way until the final touchdown of the game! This book is all about Jason Jennings and his journey back from being a bad boy and just wanting to be seen for who he is, not the football player everyone knows. From the very beginning of the book when Jason meets Allie for the first time I was hooked on the story and cheering for Jason harder than any of his other UCAL fans! I wanted him to succeed in life and to get the girl. The story is written so well and kept pace like a marathon runner...I could not bring myself to put it down until I was done. You will love Jason and Allie's story and find yourself cheering them on, just like Allie on the sidelines of Jason's UCAL games! Odekirk scores a touchdown with Love Sidelined!!! Run and grab your own copy!

Deborah Prophetess of God by H.B. Moore, Blog Tour

Book Summary:

From 4-time Whitney Award winning author, H.B. Moore, comes the new biblical novel about Deborah the Judge, a woman who rises from oppression and leads her entire nation to victory.

After years of mistreatment, the Israelites prepare to defend themselves against the oppressive Canaanites. Readying for war not only takes secret military training but also an Israelite leader who is willing to both stand against generations of oppression and follow God.

Deborah, a young Israelite woman, lives a quiet and isolated life with her father and brothers. As a shepherdess in the hills near her home, she knows well the perils of her work. But when faced with incredible danger, she witnesses a series of remarkable events that preserve her life. The hand of the Lord is apparent, and it is clear that hers will be no ordinary life.
Years later, Deborah is a faithful wife and mother when she learns that the Third Judge of Israel has died--and she has been called to take his place. It is a tumultuous time in history, and soon, Deborah--prophetess, judge, and military leader--faces a seemingly insurmountable task: alongside the commander of the Israelite army, Deborah must lead ten thousand soldiers in their final campaign against their Canaanite oppressors with only her faith in God to guide her.

My Review:

I honestly wasn't sure about Deborah's story, I knew little of it and I was quite pleasantly surprised by how quickly I was drawn into it. I loved this look into Deborah's life and her becoming not only a prophetess but a judge in Israel. The immense study into life back then by Moore lends an authenticity to the story and brings the reader straight into the everyday life of the Israelite people. The oppression they were under by the Canaanites was shocking and sickening. I wanted the Israelites to rise up and take back their freedom. Training armies, being a judge and a mother, Deborah seemed to balance it all wonderfully. Her story is powerfully told and is one I keep reflecting on even days after I have finished it. Bold, powerful, and majestically written, Deborah Prophetess of God will leave you wanting more.

The Lady and the Highwayman by Sarah M. Eden, Blog Tour

Book Summary:

Elizabeth Black is the headmistress of a girls’ school and a well-respected author of “silver-fork” novels, stories written both for and about the upper-class ladies of Victorian society. But by night, she writes very different kinds of stories—the Penny Dreadfuls that are all the rage among the working-class men. Under the pseudonym Mr. King, Elizabeth has written about dashing heroes fighting supernatural threats and dangerous outlaws romancing helpless women. They contain all the adventure and mystery that her real life lacks.

Fletcher Walker began life as a street urchin, but is now the most successful author in the Penny Dreadful market, that is until Mr. King started taking all of his readers--and his profits. No one knows who King is, including Fletcher’s fellow members of the Dread Penny Society, a fraternity of authors dedicated to secretly fighting for the rights of the less-fortunate.

Determined to find the elusive Mr. King, Fletcher approaches Miss Black. As a fellow-author, she is well-known among the high-class writers; perhaps she could be persuaded to make some inquiries as to Mr. King’s whereabouts? Elizabeth agrees to help Fletcher, if only to insure her secret identity is never discovered.

For the first time, Elizabeth experiences the thrill of a cat-and-mouse adventure reminiscent of one of her own novels as she tries to throw Fletcher off her scent. But the more time they spend together, the more she loses her heart. Its upper-class against working-class, author against author where readers, reputations, and romance are all on the line.

My Review:

Elizabeth and Fletcher's story is a roller coaster ride that was thrilling the entire time! I could not put the book down, no matter how tired I was.  I wanted, nay, I needed to know the ending. This book is not one, not two, but three stories in one! Count them, three stories folks! And I loved it! Eden artfully put together a tale about two very different people from completely opposite walks of life (who both happen to write penny dreadful novels). The secrets, the chemistry between the characters, and the fact that I got to read each character's novel within this book was the icing on the cake. I have never read a novel that was so perfectly put together while inserting two completely separate stories into the book. Eden has written a beautifully crafted masterpiece and I would wager that she will win awards for this one. I love it, I recommend it, and I would read it again!

The Christmas Dress · Joanna Barker

My Review:

Hands down, this is my favorite Christmas anthology I have read! There is something for everyone in this set of novellas. Christmas at Falstone Castle takes the reader on a journey of redemption, love and family. This heartwarming tale is one you definitely want to read! The Hearts of Christmas is an unlikely Christmas miracle story that readers will enjoy. 'Tis teh Season to Be Daring is my personal favorite of this anthology! I love, love, loved Lord Hawthorne! His smirk, his willingness to play along, his disdain for what society accepts...just everything!!! This is a must-read for fans of Christmas, love, and regency. This story rocks! Last, but certainly not least, is The Christmas Dress. This story swept me away into the frozen and cold world of Nell. This is a story unlike most...they were friends as children and then years passed and her circumstances changed to a fall in station. I truly loved the relationship building between Nell and Jacob...this one is a great read! All fans of Christmas and regency novels will love All Hearts Come Home for Christmas!!!

My Review:

Reading Entangled was a fantastic and thrilling read. Each novella was different and unique but full of action and suspense that kept me reading. I loved that each story was long enough to be a full story but short enough to read when I didn't have a lot of time. Bridge of Trust by Abramson pulled me into the fast and furious world of the FBI and drug bosses. It is a must read. Corrupted by Poulson made me rethink everything I thought about safety and kept me on my toes about who would live and who would die. Insidious by Luke was one big mystery and since I don't want to spoil it, just go read it! Something Beautiful for Something Evil was a complete whodunnit, it kept me trying to sleuth until the end. If you love action/suspense, thrills and mystery, then you will love this collection of novellas, Entangled!
