Luke Carney has no idea what possessed him to move back to Shelter Springs, Colorado, to set up his veterinarian practice. His parents have long since left, the small farming community is on the brink of extinction, and only one close friend from his childhood remains--Taycee Emerson, his best friend’s little sister, who isn’t so little anymore.
Then there’s the matter of Shelter’s Bachelorette, an online reality dating show created to raise some much needed funds for the town.
Unwittingly cast as the bachelorette, Taycee wants out, especially when she discovers that Luke, her childhood crush, is back in town and will be one of the bachelors. To make matters worse, it's up to the viewers--not her--to decide which bachelors stay or go. And they all seem to like Luke.
Unwilling to let him break her heart again, Taycee launches a subtle attack on Luke’s good name with the hope of getting him voted off the show. But she’d forgotten that Luke's an eye-for-an-eye kind of guy, and when he discovers what she's up to, it means revenge.
I grabbed this book when it was free one day on Amazon. I have had my eye on it and was excited when it went on promo! I was not disappointed from all the hype I have heard about the book! I loved Taycee, she was refreshing and forward. She loved her friends and family fiercely. When she found out she was tricked into being the town's bachelorette to try to save the farmers, she said yes, even though she really wanted to say no. Can we say people pleaser? Her old crush Luke comes back to town and she tries everything to push him away because she feels so strongly for him. Gosh she was frustrating at times! Luke was handsome and unsure of his feelings. He just wanted everything to be the same way it was ten years ago! At certain points, I could have smacked both Luke and Taycee and said "Wake up and see what is really going on!" But I guess that makes for a good story :)
I loved The Reluctant Bachelorette....it is an awesome contemporary romance in a small town. I loved the vibe and flow and this was one I didn't want to put down! I am a new fan to Rachael Anderson and cannot wait to get my hands on another one of her books! If you like small town drama and if you like the show, The Bachelorette, you will most likely love this book!

Blurb from the book:
Coming down from the mountain to a new life in the city is a thrill to Miri. She and her princess academy friends have been brought to Asland to help the future princess Britta prepare for her wedding. There, Miri also has a chance to attend school-at the Queen's Castle. But as Miri befriends students who seem sophisticated and exciting she also learns that they have some frightening plans. Torn between loyalty to the princess and her new friends' ideas, between an old love and a new crush, and between her small mountain home and the bustling city, Miri looks to find her own way in this new place.
Picking up where "Princess Academy" left off, and celebrating the joys of friendship, romance and the fate of fairy tale kingdoms, this new book delivers the completely delightful new story that fans have been waiting for.
It has been awhile since I read The Princess Academy but reading Palace of Stone, I felt like I had picked up right where I left off. Miri, Peder and all of my favorite characters were a part of this book, along with some new ones. I loved that Miri was an imperfect heroine who struggled to do the right thing just like anyone would. I appreciated that she made mistakes, but she owned up to those mistakes and made them right. I was slowly drawn into the story, and I wasn't sure where it was going to go at first. Miri leaving Mount Eskel and going to Asland and whispers of a revolution. I wasn't sure if I was going to like the direction that the book was going. However, although it wasn't the direction I imagined the sequel taking, I literally could not put the book down! I stayed up until almost 1 am to finish it in one sitting! Shannon Hale has a way of drawing the reader into the story and holding their interest chapter after chapter. She has an amazing ability to tell a story and I look forward to her hopefully releasing a third book in this series!
I received a copy of this book for free, this is my honest review.

About the Book
Home is where good things happen--and for the Romney family, the heart of the home is the kitchen. In The Romney Family Table, Ann Romney, wife of former Massachusetts governor and presidential candidate Mitt Romney, reflects on her many years as a mom, shares family recipes, and describes some of her favorite and not-so-favorite moments of raising a family. Woven together with personal memories and traditions are Romney family favorite recipes such as Peppered Pork Chops with Peach-Vinegar Glaze, Welsh Skillet Cakes, Honey Wheat Bread (which Ann made regularly for five growing sons), and Mimi’s Buttermilk Pancakes, which she and Mitt shared with their Secret Service detail at the end of his presidential campaign.
This unique blend of heartwarming and humorous stories told in Ann’s warm, welcoming style, candid family photos spanning four decades, and more than 125 fabulous recipes will inspire your own traditions and family dinners for years to come.
The Romney Family Table is part cookbook and part glimpses into the lives and home of the Romney Family. Ann Romney explains why the kitchen isn't just a place to prepare food, but is the heart of the home; where you raise your family. She shares memories and pictures of her family along with recipes. This cookbook has me wanting to spend more time cooking and it definitely has me wanting to try out these new recipes that have been traditions in their home!

Cayden Rivers wants nothing more than to be normal, but we don’t always get what we want. For years he has been hiding a secret, afraid of being labeled a “freak”. Every day he goes to school, plays football, spends time with his girlfriend, and helps carry his drunken adopted father to bed. Nobody knows the truth about his unnatural speed and strength, including his life-long friend Camilla. Suddenly, four strangers enter Cayden’s life, and not only do they know his secret, they also have one of their own. With their help, Cayden discovers there is more to his power, something much more dangerous. Something other people will kill to possess. Camilla wishes her parents were around more. She gets lonely sleeping in her big empty house night after night. Sure, she has all the money she could ever need, but the only person who is there for her is Cayden. He has his own family and a girlfriend who takes up most of his time, so Camilla knows he won’t be there for her forever, and recently he’s been acting really strange. Will Cayden be able to keep his secret and his friendship with Camilla, or will his new found power destroy everything, including his own life? Switching between Cayden and Camilla's point of view, Twisted will leave you aching for more.
I wasn't sure what to expect from Twisted; the book summary sounded interesting so I decided to join a blog tour for the book. I am so glad that I did! Twisted was exciting and had me page turning from the beginning of the book. I wanted to know more about Cayden, his sister and best friend Cam. I also wanted to know why he was such a moron and decided to date such a self-absorbed girl! Wake up Cayden, even if you are a high schooler, see what is right in front of you! But even more than that I wanted to know more about Cayden and who or what he was. Were we talking vampire, werewolf, what was he??? Author KaCee R. does a great job of keeping the reader engaged and interested in Cayden's story. As it unfolded I found myself anxious to find out more information and hopeful that things would end the way that I wanted them to! While some things in this book were a bit predictable, I still found the entire book engaging as a whole. I hurried to finish each chapter and constantly wanted more. I was disappointed in the ending, it felt too abrupt for me. Then I realized that there are more books, so that explains the more abrupt ending. All in all this was a book that drew me in and I will definitely read the next one in the series.

Just Ella by Annette K. Larsen Book Summary: A Proper Romance Ariella was only looking for a distraction, something to break up the monotony of palace life. What she found was a young man willing to overlook her title and show her a new and vibrant way of life. But when her growing feelings for Gavin spiral out of control and clash with the expectations of her station, she will discover that the consequences of her curiosity are far more severe than she’d imagined. I watched in helpless horror as two guards hauled Gavin to his feet and dragged him from the room. My voice was frozen, unable to protest as another guard took hold of my arm, leading me upstairs. From the confines of my room, I stared into the darkness beyond my window, hoping to catch one more glimpse of Gavin. He was gone, and I wondered if he would have been better off if he had never met me. I write clean romance. Why? Because that’s what I love to read, but over the years I’ve discovered it’s quite a challenge to find good clean romance. I believe it’s a genre that many people are looking for and too few authors are writing. My first novel, Just Ella, took me many years to write because I wanted it to be more than just a cutesy love story. I wanted it to have depth, to feel genuine. Hopefully I succeeded, but you’ll have to be the judge.

Wow...really I am not quite sure how to articulate how great this book was! Just Ella swept me away into another world with princesses, princes, kings, queens, nobility and commoners. I felt like I was experiencing the entire story right along with Ella! The romance was real and emotional, a relationship built over time and with trust. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Ella and I felt every emotion right along with her. I wanted to cry when she did, laugh when she did and smile when she did! Every page was enjoyable, there was never (seriously never!) a time in the story that I lost interest or was bored. Every word had meaning and I could have easily read another hundred pages! I have to say that author Annette Larsen has a smash hit on her hands! I NEED another book! Please tell me you are writing more because I am a new hardcore fan who cannot wait for another story like Just Ella!!! If you like fairy tales, romance, historical novels, hey if you just like to read, you will fall in love with this story! Just Ella is a diamond in the sea of indie novels! Give it a try!
Author Annette K. Larsen I was born in Utah, but grew up in Flagstaff Arizona and St. Louis Missouri, the fifth of seven children. I attended college at Southern Virginia University and Brigham Young University where I studied English and Theater. I now live in Idaho with my husband and four children. I have Charlotte Bronte to thank for the courage to write novels. After being bombarded with assigned reading about women who justified abandoning either their families or their principles in the name of love, I had the great fortune of reading Jane Eyre. And that was it: finally a heroine who understood that being moral and making the right choice was hard, and sometimes it hurt, but it was still worth it. After rereading it several years later, I realized that if I wanted more books to exist with the kinds of heroines I admired, then I might as well write a few myself. My books are about women who face hard choices, who face pain and rejection and often have to sacrifice what they want for what is right. The consequences are often difficult or unpleasant, but it the end, doing what’s right will always be worth it. I believe there is no substitute for good writing or good chocolate. Fortunately, one often leads to the other.

Written on Our Hearts
If you have ever found the Old Testament intimidating, you're not alone. The less-familiar history, themes, and language, coupled with the length of the book, make it a difficult read for many. But author Emily Freeman loves the Old Testament, and as she shares some of the wonderful things she has learned in her study of this book of scripture, you will find yourself coming to love it too.
Written on Our Hearts is not a commentary or an intensive doctrinal study. Instead, Emily writes about the stories of the Old Testament, stories of trusting and overcoming and enduring and believing. Within these stories are all kinds of applications for the challenges we face today.
"There will come a moment in your life," the author says, "when you or someone you love will struggle with a challenge so great you will wonder how you will make it through. In that moment you will long to better understand the Savior's role as the Deliverer, and to do that you must go to the book of scripture that describes that role the best—the Old Testament."
Discover the delivering power of the Lord yourself in the pages of this book—and experience the scriptures in a new, more personal way!
I absolutely loved this book! Each section of the book (2-4 pages) talks about one or a few verses of scripture from the Old Testament. Included in the sections are the author's observations or insights into the verse or verses and how we can apply them into our lives. It helped me to see these verses in a different light. Also in each section the author has included a question to ask yourself, a challenge so to speak. I immensely enjoyed these questions as they helped me to reflect on how I could apply each scripture into my life and try to become a better person. Reading the book was easy and the pages flew by quickly. This is definitely a book I would read again, it is a great learning tool and leaves the reader with much to ponder!
About the Author
Emily Freeman took her first creative writing class in high school and has loved writing ever since. She finds great joy in studying the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. Her deep love of the scriptures comes from a desire to find their application in everyday life. She is the author of several books, including The Ten Virgins; 21 Days Closer to Christ; and The Promise of Enough. There is nothing Emily enjoys more for breakfast than a bowl of vanilla ice cream, raspberries, and chocolate chips. Other favorites include parades, vacations, firework displays, and going for a long walk with a good friend. Emily and her husband, Greg, live in Lehi, Utah, with their four children, whom she adores.

MissionHome.com provides new resources for missionaries and their families
Where you serve is not as important as how you serve.
Salt Lake City, UT (September 17, 2013) – The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints currently operates over 400 missions with more than 75,000 missionaries serving throughout the world. When the missionary age change was announced in the October 2012 general conference, a new wave of prospective missionaries began preparing for the moment they would receive their call.
After receiving the call, missionaries and families often begin their search for specific information on that mission. Until now, there has not been a centralized site to learn about the culture and people of each mission area. On October 1st, 2013 Deseret Book Company will launch an online missionary website, MissionHome.com. MissionHome.com focuses on each phase of missionary service—prepare, serve and return. It includes helpful hints to prospective missionaries including tips for how to pack efficiently and how to prepare to leave as well as inspiring and authentic experiences from former missionaries. A complete mission directory, created by missionaries who themselves have served in that area, provides information about local customs, food, transportation, safety, and many other insights.
“We saw a way that we could provide a gathering place for missionaries and the families of missionaries to become acquainted with the area where they would be serving as well as provide other unique resources,” said Laurel Christensen Day of Deseret Book Company, “and MissionHome.com was born.”
MissionHome.com is easy to use and provides a library of information for prospective and returning missionaries as well as help to families of those currently serving (a section for senior couples will be coming soon). Familiar LDS authors as well as recently returned missionaries and past mission presidents will be regular contributors to the site.
In addition to great free content and resources, families will be able to send care packages directly to their missionaries with guaranteed delivery from Deseret Book. Service is available to most missions.
For more information on Mission Home, visit www.missionhome.com.
About Deseret Book
Deseret Book is committed to support the mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints by providing scriptures, books, music, and other quality products that strengthen individuals, families, and our society. For more information go to www.deseretbook.com.

Lord Trowbridge's Angel The very handsome and very bored Lord Trowbridge knows something is missing in his existence. When he is asked by a friend to escort the seemingly quiet Miss Sophie Edwards to her first ball, he has no idea she possesses the key that will unlock him. It is her secret weapon. Once he sees his own inner workings, his life unfolds in a different manner. He will do anything to capture the love of his “angel.” Unfortunately, his old life and the shibboleths of the ton stand in his way. As he wades through these afflictions, Sophie is courted by another man. Who will she choose? How can he possibly show his love for her in a way as original and unique as she is? What are Sophie's feelings for him? Praise for Lord Trowbridge's Angel "Vandagriff's recipe for spinning a delightful story with so many unexpected twists and involvements is truly masterful." ~willsand "Ms. Vandagriff is a master of description. She understands men and women and the nuances between them." ~ L. Glenn "Vandagriff is quickly becoming an esteemed name on the shelves of regency romance. Lord Trowbridge's Angel is sweet, humorous, and of course romantic, and you'll become an instant fan." ~Heather Moore
I am a new reader to author G. G. Vandergriff. The book summary grabbed my attention because I love a good regency/historical novel. What makes Lord Trowbridge's Angel so unique from the other regency novels are not only the characters themselves but also the prominent historical figures that are referenced and met during the book. The main character Sophie is a beautiful girl, but she has been hiding out in the country due to a bad knee that causes her pain and limping. In the Ton's eyes she is not up to par and we meet Sophie at her first outing in London's society. Her escort, Lord Trowbridge, seems smitten with her, yet she believes he is just flirting. I truly loved Sophie's strength and I enjoyed reading a book with a main character who had a disability of sorts. Although it was her knee, it was considered 'different' in London society. It made for a great read as we went on this journey with Sophie and experienced an untypical girl's life. I think that most readers will feel a connection to Sophie as we all are different.
I mentioned the prominent historical figures that G.G. Vandergriff references. I thoroughly enjoyed the connections she made with Beethoven to some of the characters and Wordsworth as well. It was a unique element to this regency novel that made it stand out to me. My final praise for Lord Trowbridge's Angel is the musical element to the book. Sophie is an accomplished violinist and studied under a master. I love all things musical so this element that was a part of the story throughout the book was quite enjoyable for me. I must also note that it was nice she was a violinist instead of a singer or pianist which is typical of this era. If you enjoy historical romance novels, this one is a great sweet read! I would definitely read another book by author G.G. Vandergriff!!!

Book 1: Home Matters by Julie N. Ford
Book 2: Silver Linings by Kaylee Baldwin
Book 3: Righting A Wrong by Rachael Anderson
Book 4: Lost and Found by Karey White
Book 5: Second Chances 101 by Donna K. Weaver
Book 6: Immersed in Love by Jennifer Griffith
According to her mother, Olivia Pembroke was born to be a star. But how is she supposed to be famous when she can't even get a decent acting gig? Her lucky break comes when she lands an audition for a wildly popular home improvement show. Even though she has no design training and has never even held a power tool, she refuses to let that stop her. She's confident that her destiny is finally within reach.
When her affections are torn between her heartthrob co-host and the irritating, yet somehow endearing lead contractor, does she continue to reach for the stars? Or does she design a new happily ever after? One that leads not to the fading lights of fame and fortune, but to a love that will burn forever.
Drew Westfall wants nothing more than to forget what he had to do in the name of "smart" business. Cutting off all ties with his parents—including handing over the entire contents of his trust fund to a charity—he takes off for Bridger, Colorado where his best friend has an extra room for him. It doesn't take long for him to realize that his business degree won’t do him much good in a town as small as Bridger, but he's broke and has nowhere else to go.
Eden Torresi has every reason to wallow. Not only did she lose her mother, but she had to drop out of nursing school and is in a relationship with a guy unwilling to commit. But Eden isn't the wallowing type. Instead, she chooses to spend most of her time taking care of the seniors at Silver Linings Nursing home. When she learns that her boyfriend's new roommate is down on his luck, her caring nature makes her want to reach out to him and offer what help she can. But the more time they spend together, the more complicated things get, especially when the seniors of Silver Linings decide to play matchmaker.
Seven years ago, Cambri Blaine fled her small hometown of Bridger, Colorado after her senior year ended in a fiasco. Only Jace Sutton knew the real reason why—that she was a spineless coward. Now, seven years later, her father's been in an accident and needs help, and Cambr has no choice but to return home. So with trepidation, she takes a leave of absence from the landscape architecture firm where she works and boards a plane, hoping against hope that Jace is no longer around and that the past can stay where it belongs—in the past.
If only life worked that way.
Jace never expected to see Cambri again. After she’d led him on, bruised his heart, and left town without a backward glance, he was forced to pick up the pieces and try not to hate her for it. Eventually, he put it behind him and moved on, creating a life for himself in his beloved hometown. But now that Cambri is back and looking more beautiful and sophisticated than ever, some of those old feelings resurface, and Jake instinctively knows, for the sake of his heart, that he needs to avoid her at all costs.
If only it were that easy.
Lydia was supposed to have an adventurous and exciting summer. Instead she's done nothing more than read and eat takeout. Now it's time to go home, and what does she have to show for it? A big fat nothing. Unless, of course, her trip to the airport somehow turns into something more than just a flight home.
Blake feels like he's been sent on a wild goose chase. While work is piling up back in Denver, he's on the other side of the country, hunting for some mysterious box that his grandfather left him. Well, no more. Nothing inside that box could possibly be more important than the opportunity to make it as the youngest partner at his firm. So he's going home, and that's that. But that's before he discovers his flight has been cancelled.
When these two strangers meet at the airport, they make a split-second decision to search for the box together. Maybe with both of them on the hunt, Lydia can have her adventure and Blake can find the box. And maybe, if they’re lucky, they’ll even find some romance.
