The Afterlife of Lizzie Monroe by Kelly Martin Blog Tour & Giveaway!

I'm nearing the end of my LIZZIE MONROE blog tour and I'm very happy to be here today! I'm so excited to be here talking about my new book, THE AFTERLIFE OF LIZZIE MONROE, and to answer three reader questions. I recently asked on facebook for any questions my readers had for me... they had a LOT! I was surprised actually. And they are really great questions! Some of the blogs on the tour have the questions and answers.  Deep breath...

Three Questions with Kelly Martin
1.       Which author do you aspire to be like (if any)?
I’d love to write like Colleen Coble. She writes Christian/Inspirational novels, but they aren’t preachy. They are just good stories with faith woven in. That’s how I want to write.  Also Ted Dekker. He write some pretty freaky stuff but with faith woven in. That's my favorite thing to do.

2.       If you could go on vacation with any literary character who would you go with and why?
Sherlock Holmes. Because that seems like it would be very… interesting. We’d go to one of those mystery weekend houses…. OR we’d be on a team on ABC’s Whodunnit?

3.       How much of yourself (personality, quirks, etc) do you put into your own books?
I put a lot actually. Probably more than I realize when I write. Rachel in Crossing the Deep is a bit of a klutz. Sloan in Saint Sloan gets picked on. Devin in The Deception of Devin Miller is a bit gullible at times (which I can be… probably shouldn’t be telling you that… ;) ). Brittany in Big is Beautiful is on the heavier side of life—I can relate ;) .  And Lizzie in The Afterlife of Lizzie Monroe... well, I like how she doesn’t understand the world. Sure, it’s because she’a  167 year old zombie ;) but still. I have the same questions she has at times. Also, in LIZZIE MONROE, Shane gives a speech about God and how/why things happen. I wrote that scene after the Aurora Movie Theater shooting, so I think there is a lot of ‘me’ in it. Maybe writing helps make sense of things in the world I don’t understand.

Do you have any questions for me? If so, you can chat on my facebook author page or twitter. I'd love to answer it.

I'd love for you to check out LIZZIE MONROE.. It's FOX's Sleepy Hollow meets The Vampire Diaries with a little faith thrown in for good measure (of course... there is a lot of faith in Sleepy Hollow too lol). SO if you like Sleepy Hollow-- you'll like LIZZIE :)

Thanks for having me here :)
~Kelly

Blurb:
If Shane Davis had it to do over again, he wouldn't have gone out that night. He wouldn't have burned down the church. And he sure wouldn't have taken the annoying dead girl home with him.

Now that Shane has her, he has no idea what to do with her. He can't release her into the "wild" because people will recognize her (being a hundred and fifty year old town 'legend' will do that). He can't send her away because she can't take care of herself yet. And she can't stay because if people find her, they'll know he burned the church. Being eighteen now, Shane definitely doesn't want that fact coming out.

Unbeknownst to Shane, someone has figured out the girl's secret and will do anything to get it for himself... even kill the girl who isn't so immortal after all.
