A Newport Christmess by Jess Heileman, New Release & Book Review

Book Summary:

Love can be downright messy.
This last year has been a total disaster, but my failed six-month marriage takes the cake. While my ex is out having the time of his life, my coping mechanisms consist of an unhealthy obsession with true-crime podcasts and trying to revive my floundering social media account.

So, when I get an offer from one of social media’s darlings—Nikki Aker—to make gingerbread centerpieces for her Christmas wedding, I can’t refuse. Not only because the job pays well (my maxed-out credit card will attest to how much I need this money), but it’s a last-ditch effort to increase my following before I’m forced to get “a real job.”

There’s only one small problem I didn’t account for: Nikki’s a self-proclaimed matchmaker, and apparently, I’m her next target. My only hope to escape unscathed is to conspire with Nikki’s grumpy—albeit gorgeous—brother, Landon, who seems equally determined to get through this wedding with his single status fully intact.

All we need to do is convince Nikki we're developing feelings for each other. What can possibly go wrong?

*This is a sweet/clean romance.

My Review:

A Newport Christmess is my favorite Christmas read this year! The setting is Christmas perfect from the snow to the beautiful seaside town of Newport, Rhode Island. I felt like I was there with the characters. Quinn is so real, genuine, and authentic, you couldn’t help but love her. From her tiny stature to her stubbornness about being stronger than she looks, I loved everything about her character. I think we all feel a little bit like Quinn at some point. Unsure of ourselves and if we have any good qualities at all. I was rooting her on the entire book! Landon was a dream, who wouldn’t fall for such a handsome and kind man? Together they had such electricity and I could feel the sparks flying off of the page! The supporting characters were every bit as enthralling as the main characters. I felt like I knew each and every one of them by the end of the story. I need more of this world that Heileman has created. It is magical and full of people who feel like my friends.

This book will give you a book hangover! I couldn’t put it down, I stayed up way too late to finish it, I had to know how it ended! A new author to me, Heileman is now on my auto purchase list. I loved this Christmas RomCom and am still thinking about it the day after. Find yourself a cozy chair and get comfy because once you start reading you will not be able to stop! I received a copy of this book for free; all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Happy Reading!!!
