Book Summary:

A royal engagement in the seaside kingdom of Alameda has the makings of a fairy tale. Annabelle arrives in full wedding-planning mode, but her enthusiasm is cut short the moment she steps off her yacht and spots a less-than-friendly face. Retrieving his sister’s annoying childhood friend is the last way Prince Leo would choose to spend his time, a sentiment that Annabelle clearly shares. But there’s no time to dwell on their mutual dislike. Moments after her arrival in Alameda, Annabelle’s luggage detonates, and the two royals barely make it out alive. Despite their long-standing animosity, Leo and Annabelle have no choice but to work together to discover the culprit and prevent another attack. As danger presses in on every side, the former foes soon discover that they may have been mistaken in their opinions of each other. But there are more pressing concerns than their shifting feelings because one thing is someone is trying to kill the Alamedian royalty, and until they can uncover who it is, no one is safe.
My Review:
Abramson delivers a heart stopping, swoon worthy, romantic suspense novel! With royals and murder plots, the reader never knows what to expect next! Annabelle with her sweetness and goodness made her a character the reader could connect with and understand. She was beautiful inside and out and was down to earth. Leo was handsome and so thoughtful. I enjoyed watching their friendship grow into something more. My favorite supporting character was the chef Duran. He wanted to come off as indifferent and perhaps stoic, but deep down, he had a soft spot for Annabelle and it endeared him to me. Abramson manages to pack everything you need inside this story. Friendship, love, suspense, bombs, gunshots, whodunnit, and so much more! If you want a whirlwind of a story with all of the emotions and heart pounding suspense, then this is the book for you! Five stars for Royal Intrigue by Traci Hunter Abramson. I received a copy of this book for free; all thoughts and opinions are my own.
