The Emerlad Heart of Courtenay, Blog Tour & Giveaway!

Book Summary:

The moment her father takes his final breath, Sarah Courtenay becomes the sole heir of her family’s sprawling castle—and something far more unexpected. For on his deathbed, Lord Courtenay left his daughter a cryptic message: a dark curse will fall upon the house should Sarah fail to obtain and protect a priceless treasure. Sarah’s astonishment upon discovering the carefully hidden sword sparkling with jewels is nothing compared to the shock she feels when she learns the nature of her father’s death: he was poisoned. And now, Sarah herself might possess something worth killing for. Desperate to avoid her father’s fate, Sarah flees the only home she’s ever known, taking with her a loyal maid and a hired bodyguard, who will stop at nothing to protect the beautiful woman in his care. From the safety of a remote farm, Sarah finds a renewed measure of peace and hope for the future. But the sinister weapon that glitters amid her belongings in that small farmhouse beckons a shadowy enemy, one who will not be deterred from taking everything from Sarah—including her life.

My Review:

I want to start by saying that I loved the story...the intrigue, the slow budding romance, and the mystery surrounding this priceless treasure. Sarah and Darius were strong characters that I found easy to like. That said, I felt that a lot of the story was the author telling us what was happening or had happened, not showing us. There were parts that I could have skipped altogether because it was so slow moving and nothing was happening at all. Overall, I loved the story itself, I just felt like it could have been improved by showing us what was going on and editing out the parts where absolutely nothing happened. You will definitely find yourself rooting for Sarah and Darius in The Emerald Heart of Courtenay!

The Redgrave Murders by A.L. Sowards, Blog Tour & Giveaway!

Book Summary:

Loss is inevitable, as Evie Hampton knows all too well. But despite losing her mother to cancer and her older brother to a war, she knows she’s one of the lucky ones. After all, she still has her father, a distinguished professor of medieval history. And she has Gary Redhawk, the man she loves despite the emotional scars he carries from the Second World War—and despite her father’s opposition to their relationship.

When a freak accident sends Evie’s car careening off the road, she chalks it up to poor maintenance, or sheer bad luck making another appearance in her life. Little does she know a host of hardships is just beginning—the car was her father’s, and the brake lines were deliberately cut. Someone wants them dead—but why? All fingers point to Gary, a man with a troubled past and no solid alibi, but Evie is unwilling to believe he’s involved. Determined to uncover the truth, she begins to piece together a startling picture of deception and vice. But as she closes in on the truth, it is clear that someone is determined to silence her—and the next attempt on her life may be a deadly success.

You can connect with the author, A.L. Sowards here.

My Review:

This book was a huge surprise to me and in a very good way. I didn't expect to become so completely engrossed in Evie's story and not only her relationship with her boyfriend Gary, but the murders that keep happening around her. As soon as I thought I had a part of the puzzle figured out, or I thought I knew who was behind it, the Sowards would throw another curve ball my way. This is a true whodunit and kept me on my toes and page turning until the very end. I highly recommend The Redgrave Murders to any mystery/suspense fan, you will not be disappointed!

My Review:

This is the first book that I have read by Harrison and I was impressed! This is an action/suspense novel on a whole new level. I was hooked from page one and completely embedded into this drug running/illegal transporting world. Trying to figure out the big picture and wondering how the Walkers would ever survive kept me page turning until the very end. Never before could I imagine being on a beach vacation and stumbling onto a murder and known drug runner! But Harrison easily transports the reader into crazy heart pounding situations that keep you on your toes the entire time! This is an action/suspense novel that you do not want to pass on, so I suggest grabbing a copy! You will not be disappointed!

About E. James Harrison:
I grew up on the west side of Salt Lake City in a pretty typical family.  My dad worked most of his life in a factory, my mom was a homemaker and my three sisters were...sisters!  The two older ones were always bossing me around and I always had to give in to my younger sister.  (They may not remember it exactly like that, but it's true--really!)  A mom and three sisters means a lot of estrogen in a house, so during my preteen years my dad and I would escape whenever we could to the quiet of the mountains and deserts of Utah pursuing my dad's favorite hobby--rockhounding. Saturday's meant trapsing over desolate ground and blasting old cans full of holes with a .22 rifle.
My early teen years were filled with pimples and the clumsy awkwardness of getting to know girls and for the most part, those are years to be forgotten.  It was during my high school years that two great things happened in my life.  First, I discovered airplanes and boats--two things I thoroughly enjoy to this day.  But second, and by far the most important and best thing that's every happened to me, was I met my wife, Debbie. (That's a picture of her over on the right.)  I met her in a geometry class. The teacher sat us alphabetically and I ended up in the desk behind her.  Had there still been ink wells in the desks, I'm sure I would have dipped the tips of her long dark hair in the ink in an effort to attract her attention.  With no ink I had to satisfy myself with untying the bows made from ribbons that she used to tie back her hair.  I succeeded in getting her attention, and ultimately convincing her to marry me, but not for several more years.
After high school there was a year of college (University of Utah) and then two years as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Returning from my missionary responsibilities I shocked everyone--including myself--by being accepted to Brigham Young University.  And that's when I first discovered writing.  I had no idea what I wanted to be when I "grew up," but the fiancée of one of Debbie's roommates was majoring in public relations.  I had no idea what that was, but it sounded fun so from then on I told everyone I was a public relations major.  I thought it would be a bunch of back slapping and socializing. Little did I know that English and writing are at the heart of public relations.  And the rest, as they say, is history.  I ultimately got an Associate degree in public relations and a Bachelor degree in creative writing.

Love in Disguise .jpg

Book Summary:

Marion Watt is set to embark on her first London Season, and her parents have spared no expense to help her secure a suitable husband. Unlike most of the social-climbing women in her position, Marion has no desire to marry hastily or for anything less than love. But when she learns of her mother's declining health, she knows she must keep an open mind and allow herself to be courted. What she does not anticipate, however, is that the attentions of the insufferable Lord William Everton will be placed squarely on her. He might be the most sought-after bachelor of the Season, but she sees in him nothing but a frivolous cad.
Until William inherits his father's title and seat in parliament, he must rely on his own devices to change the world. Dressing like a ridiculous dandy serves its purposes, but he is certain his newest disguise will help him find a wife to please his parents and further his own agenda. From among the glittering group of debutantes, William finds only one woman who passes his test. Unfortunately, the perfect choice is the only woman in all of London who despises him.

My Review:
I absolutely loved this book and could not put it down! This regency era set novel about Marion and Lord Everton swept me away. I found myself wanting Marion to find just the right man for her and then when Lord Everton set his sights on her I was dumbfounded! How would this unlikely pair work or could this unlikely pair work? And what was Lord Everton really all about? Was there more to this man than meets the eye? There were so many ups and downs that Walker kept me on this thrilling roller coaster ride I never wanted to get off from! She seamlessly wove a story of not just love, but heartbreak, scorn, and deceit. WARNING:  do not start this book if you do not have time to finish it in one sitting! You won't be able to stop reading or thinking about it!  Go, run, and one-click Love in Disguise, you will not be sorry!!!

The Heart of a Vicar by Sarah M. Eden, Blog Tour & Giveaway!

Book Summary:

Young love is all too fleeting, as Harold Jonquil painfully discovered years ago when Sarah Sarvol, the niece of a neighboring landowner, captured his heart. After an idyllic few weeks in the throes of blossoming love, reality intervened. They could have no future. Following their disastrous parting, Harold attempted to push aside thoughts of love and regret, but Sarah has never left his heart. Now, years later, he has achieved his lifelong aspiration of becoming the local vicar. However, the role proves more difficult than he imagined. He feels hollow and uninspired—until the most important person in his past returns, challenging him as no one ever has.

When Sarah’s ailing uncle summons her back to the family estate in England, there is only one person from her past she is reluctant to see again: Harold Jonquil, the only man who has ever claimed her heart. But when she comes face-to-face with her former beau, she hardly recognizes the aloof and dull man before her. She is determined to help Harold rediscover the passion he once felt toward his chosen profession. Soon, despite their exasperation with each other, they cannot deny the stirring of feelings long buried—but is it too late for second chances?

My Review:

I have loved all of the previous books about the Jonquil brothers and this one, if it is even possible....exceeded my expectations! This is a story that you will want to read; it has depth, emotion, and makes you ponder life. Harold is trying to find himself. He is trying to figure out who he really is because for his entire life it seems, he has been trying so hard to play a part and to please everyone else. And somewhere in that process he lost the most important thing...himself. This story is also about Sarah, Harold's one time love from long ago. Their lives cross paths once again and she challenges him and makes me think about his own life. I loved this book so much because it makes you think, feel, and become so engrossed in Harold's story that you forget it is a book and not reality.

A Proper Scandal by Esther Hatch, Blog Tour & Giveaway!

Book Summary:

Grace Sinclair has been callously cast out of her home. And though taken in as an orphaned child by the vicar and his wife, her unsurpassed beauty makes it impossible for her to remain in the vicar’s household—with two daughters of their own about to enter Society, the vicar and his wife see Grace as nothing but competition. Thankfully, Grace’s estranged Aunt Bell has agreed to take her in to her home in London. But Grace soon learns her situation has just gotten much worse.

It takes only a moment’s acquaintance for Grace to ascertain that her aunt has married a detestable rake. And Aunt Bell, recognizing the danger of having her lovely niece too near her husband, gives Grace an ultimatum: the young woman has two weeks to find a man to marry, after which she will be turned out. With no experience in the art of attracting a husband, Grace quickly realizes that a worthy suitor might not be so easy to ensnare.

My Review:

I love, love, love, LOVED this book so much!!! Grace is one of my top ten favorite characters of all time! She is unapologetically herself; she is determined, kind, truthful, and courageous. She is funny and more beautiful than she realizes. When faced with one difficult situation after another, she doesn't give up, but seeks solutions. She was a rockstar! When faced with an evil uncle with bad intentions, she is faced with having to ensnare a husband. But apparently it is much more difficult than she had anticipated. This book is full of unexpected moments and I loved every single one of them! I highly recommend A Proper Scandal to any fan of regency or romance novels!

Finding Anne de Bourgh by Ronda Gibb Hinrichsen, Blog Tour & Giveaway!!!

Book Summary:

As heiress of Rosings Park, Anne de Bourgh’s health is of utmost importance to her mother, Lady Catherine de Bourgh. Thus, following the shock of a recent fire at Rosings Park, the young woman is spirited away to Brighton to take the cure. While her domineering mother is bent on healing her daughter’s sickly constitution to secure her a suitable match, Anne herself is far more concerned with sketching the flora and fauna of the lovely sea town. It is in pursuit of artistic inspiration among the flowers that Anne becomes acquainted with Mr. Owen Talbot, a charming man with whom Anne feels an immediate connection, notwithstanding their differing stations.

But despite their growing esteem for one another, the couple faces an insurmountable problem: Lady Catherine has set her sights on a rich, well-connected man for her daughter, and Mr. Talbot is simply too common. With their love in jeopardy, the couple soon faces far graver problems. There has been a murder in Brighton, and Anne is innocently drawn into an amateur investigation that ultimately traces its roots to her own family. With a frightening foreshadowing regarding the de Bourghs, Anne begins to question whom she can truly trust.

My Review:

This is so much more than just a regency romance novel. This story is really about Anne herself, and how she learns to express her own opinions and to become comfortable being who she truly is; instead of just following everything her mother expects her to do. I found myself rooting for Anne. Rooting for her to speak her opinions and wishes and to not just blindly follow everything her mother asked of her. Anne finds herself thrown into a murder mystery and along the way she begins to fall for Mr. Talbot. Her mother doesn't approve, but Anne's heart says otherwise. Can Anne truly find herself and true love, all while solving a murder? This book is one regency romance you do not want to pass by!

Charlotte's Promise by Jennifer Moore. Blog Tour & Giveaway!!!

Book Summary:

One year ago Charlotte Bower's life was ripped apart when Creek Indians attacked, killed her parents, and separated her from her young brother—now, she will stop at nothing to find him. After a year of captivity, she has finally made her escape. Her search will begin in New Orleans, where captives were taken after the raid. But how to reach a city hundreds of miles away? As she watches men boarding a waiting ship, Charlotte formulates a bold plan: if it's men they need for the ship's crew, it's a man they'll get. Taking on her childhood nickname, Charlie, it is all too easy to gain passage on the New Orleans-bound vessel. Easy, that is, until Charlie is caught . . .
From the moment he sets eyes on the new deckhand, Captain Alden Thatcher knows one thing for certain: Charlie Bower is no man. But for reasons of his own, he keeps her secret. As their journey progresses, however, the voyage is increasingly ill-fated. With danger ever present, Charlie and the captain find themselves relying on one another in ways they'd never imagined. As they draw closer to her goal, Charlotte is faced with the most perilous adventure of all—an adventure that may risk her heart.

My Review:

This book was fantastic and I could not stop reading it! Seriously, I disregarded the fact that I had to get up and go to work the next day...this book is that good! Charlotte is strong and courageous, putting on the disguise of young boy in order to get passage on a ship and work her way to her destination. After going through who knows what horrors as a captive, she breaks free and is determined to find her brother. What she didn't expect to find along the way was love. This is not a traditional love story at all and I was swept away by the courage of Charlotte and her steadiness despite her challenges. Captain Thatcher drove me seriously nuts, I didn't know if he would ever realize what was right in front of him. This novel is full of danger, friendship, and love. You will enjoy every minute of this swashbuckling adventure!

Daisies and Devotion by Josi S. Kilpack, Blog Tour

Book Summary:

Timothy Mayfield is ready to marry for love, but, since his personal finances are thinner than he’d like, he knows he’ll also need to find a wife with wealth. After receiving an unexpected inheritance, Timothy’s circumstances change, and he is free to pursue his “perfect woman”—one with blonde hair, blue eyes, a light laugh, arched eyebrows, elegant fingers, and a dazzling smile, among nearly twenty other characteristics.

Maryann Morrington doesn’t match anything on Timothy’s list—except for wealth. An heiress in her own right, she is tired of men pursuing her only for her money. But at nearly twenty-two years old, and not a particularly stunning beauty, she can’t be as picky as her friend Timothy is.

The two friends end up playing matchmaker for each other. Timothy will find a decent gentleman for Maryann, and Maryann will prove to Timothy that his “perfect woman” doesn’t exist.

Until Miss Shaw comes to London.

Now, with Timothy’s heart captivated by the blonde, blue-eyed beauty, Maryann must decide if she should risk her heart and reveal her true feelings for her friend, or if she should settle for someone else. It’s an up-and-down game of “he loves me, he loves me not” with both hearts and friendship on the line.

My Review:

I love this next installment in the Mayfield family series! You can definitely read this as a standalone, but why would you not want to read to read Promises and Primroses? Because it is pretty amazing as well! Anyway, on to Daisies and Devotion! I really like that you get to see Timothy's perspective and Maryann's. It is always nice as a reader to be able to see into both of the main characters' minds. It rounds out the story and makes you understand each character as if you actually know them. This story pulled me right in and it held me there, I was literally a captive! It held me there wondering if these two would ever figure out what they really felt or if they would continue to try to set the other one up! Seriously guys, can you not see what is going on? Sometimes the characters become so real that you find yourself talking to them while you read. Side note: they don't listen, nor do they follow your advice. If you love regency novels, this is a definite must read!

Undercover Honeymoon by Kari Iroz, LDS Blog Tour & Giveaway!!!

Book Summary:

Wedding bells are finally ringing for Jacklyn “Jack” Wyatt and her FBI-agent fiancé, Damon Wade. After their adventurous beginning, the happy couple finds the relative calm leading up to their big day a huge relief. Unfortunately, it seems the peace and quiet were too good to last. As they embark on their honeymoon, a weeklong cruise, Jack can’t shake the feeling that something is off with her new husband. When she stumbles upon a secret plot—one in which her husband is a key player—she realizes this getaway will be anything but smooth sailing. When she delves into the shady happenings aboard the ship, Jack realizes Damon’s involvement is just the tip of the iceberg—she has become an unwitting player in a deadly conspiracy, and in such close quarters, there is no escape. Now, Jack has no choice but to work with her new husband to unravel the truth before their happily ever after—and their lives—are ended all too soon.

My Review:

I loved this book so very much! I love Jack. She is so real, so very authentic, and I think most women can relate to her is some form or fashion. I love how she views life, how she doesn't realize how beautiful she is and  it is endearing how she overthinks things; as women, we tend to over think everything. So I felt like I knew and understood Jack. This is not the first novel I have read with her in it, but you can totally read this one as a standalone if you want. There is no need to read the prior books, but trust me when I say you will love them too. Undercover Honeymoon had twists, turns, and surprises around every single corner. I love the mix of romance and danger and the story is so good, I couldn't make myself stop reading. I mean, I needed to so I could get enough sleep since I had to work the next morning, but hey, 12;30 am is totally worth it for a novel that pulls you in so deeply you cannot find your way out! Undercover Honeymoon is a must read for any adventure-seeking, romance-loving, laugh-out-loud funny and on the edge of your seat suspense- seeking reader! This book rocks, so hurry and pick up your own copy! (This book is LDS based and has references to the LDS faith and culture)

A Song for the Stars by Ilima Todd, Blog Tour

Book Summary:

Hawaiian Islands, 1779

As the second daughter of a royal chief, Maile will be permitted to marry for love. Her fiancé is the best navigator in Hawaiʻi, and he taught her everything he knows—how to feel the ocean, observe the winds, read the stars, and how to love.

But when sailors from a strange place called England arrive on her island, a misunderstanding ends in battle, and Maile is suddenly widowed before she is wed.

Finding herself in the middle of the battle and fearing for her life, Maile takes John Harbottle, the wounded man who killed her fiancé, prisoner, and though originally intending to let him die, she reluctantly heals him. And in the process, she discovers the man she thought was her enemy might be her ally instead.

John has been Captain James Cook’s translator for three voyages across the Pacific. He is kind and clearly fascinated with her homeland and her people—and Maile herself. But guilt continues to drive a wedge between them: John’s guilt over the death he caused, and Maile’s guilt over the truth about what triggered the deadly battle—a secret she’s kept hidden from everyone on the island.

When Maile is tasked with teaching John how to navigate using the stars so he can sail back to England, they must also navigate the challenges of being from very different cultures. In doing so, they might also find the peace that comes when two hearts become one.

My Review:

It is interesting to me that this is based on a true story because it really felt like a Moana version of Pocahontas. Which makes the story even that much more intriguing! I really loved Maile as a character. She was strong, brave, proud, kind, and compassionate.  All of the things a woman would like herself to be. Learning about the Hawaiian culture and how different they way they not only did things but saw things was a real eye opener for me and made me feel like I was learning right along with John. This is such a unique proper romance novel, it is unlike anything that I have read in all of my years blogging and devouring books. If you want a unique story with depth, culture, obstacles that seem insurmountable, and two people that come from two completely different worlds...then this is a book you must read! It hits all the check marks and then some! This is not just another romance novel, it has substance and grit!

Plague by Gregg Luke, Blog Tour & Giveaway!

Book Summary:

Professor Mitch Pine knows all too well the history of epidemics, so the startling new information he’s discovered has him racing to the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta. Mitch has uncovered a startling pattern: dramatic environmental changes always occurred prior to devastating outbreaks, and current climate change may be such a catalyst. But before his plane lands, Mitch’s journey takes a terrifying turn. He is intercepted by a woman who represents a dangerous faction whose interest in Mitch’s research opposes his mission to save lives. To secure Mitch’s cooperation, his research assistant is being held hostage. With so many lives on the line, Mitch embarks on a turbulent trip around the world, uncovering pieces of the puzzle until he ultimately holds the key to prevent—or precipitate—global devastation. Unless he can find a way to stop the lunatics behind his abduction, a plague the likes of which the world has never known will be unleashed.

My Review:

Luke literally pulled me into this wild ride and didn't let me off until I had finished the entire book. And it was sooooo good you guys! This is an insane ride of action and suspense like no other I have read before. I was so worried I would get bored with all of the scientific stuff that is really quite over my head, but Luke does a fine job of shelling out the info in a way the reader can understand and apply towards the storyline. And this one is a doozy! I mean, Mitch's assistant is kidnapped, he has been kidnapped...and we really are not completely sure why? It isn't all adding up and I felt like there was a key component I was missing! I liked the edge of the seat suspense and overall flow of the story. Some of my favorite characters were the ones with small parts in the book, but I would love to learn their stories as well. I am crossing my fingers for Hiru's and Sissy's stories. Hopefully Luke has more to write than just this one hurrah with these characters. This is one fantastic book and I suggest finding a comfy chair to read it in, because you won't be getting up for a long while!

Miss Adeline's Match by Joanna Barker, Blog Tour

Book Summary:

Miss Adeline Hayes is the perfect lady's companion: pleasant, conversational, and unceasingly proper. But when her closest friend, Charity Edgeworth, breaks off her arranged marriage without explanation, even Adeline's superior skills are put to the test. Charity's father banishes the two young women to the country, sending Adeline with a charge to find Charity a husband or suffer dire consequences.

As Adeline takes on the role of reluctant matchmaker, she discovers more than one obstacle in her path. Not only does Charity prefer escaping in books to socializing, but Adeline soon finds her own attentions distracted by the standoffish—and irritatingly handsome—Mr. Evan Whitfield. Amidst an eventful foxhunt and the unexpected arrival of Charity's former betrothed, Adeline simply doesn't have time for a battle of wits with Evan. But the two are continually drawn together until Adeline begins to question her tightly guarded convictions about love and marriage.

However, when secrets are revealed and truths made known, Adeline must face her most fearsome obstacle yet: herself.

My Review:

Right off the bat I was pulled right into Adeline's life and her story. From her ailing father, to her friendship with her best friend Charity. Her life was intriguing and she was everything that was prim and proper. She always knew what to say and do, so when she pops off defending her friend, I was quite shocked! Then Adeline and Charity are sent off to Charity's aunt's home with Adeline being told she had better find Charity a husband or the consequences would be disastrous! So Adeline is torn between doing what is right for her friend or what is right for herself. All while she meets Mr. Whitfield, who happens to be frustrating to her and intriguing at the same time. I felt like he was a little bit reminiscent of Mr. Darcy, which made me love it all the more.  I got to a point where I could not believe what was actually happening and I couldn't tear myself away from the book....I had to finish!! I highly recommend Miss Adeline's Match to anyone who is a fan of regency romance novels!

Catherine's Intrigue by Paige Edwards, LDS Blog Tour & Giveaway

Book Summary:

To fulfill her mother's last request, twenty-four-year-old historic design specialist Catherine Pressley-Coombes travels to England in order to investigate an elusive family line. Armed with an illegible diary, she is determined to discover the identity of her mysterious ancestress. Distracted by an Elizabethan manor and unused to British country roads, Catherine runs her car into a ditch. Luckily, Nick Davidson, a handsome, hard-working local rides in on his tractor to save the day. As the down-to-earth manager of his family's estate, Nick also happens to be one of England's most eligible aristocrats.
Nick is certainly not the kind of man Catherine would fall for a man dogged by media and rumor. So why does she find the English lord so irresistible? Even though she can't overlook their differing values and beliefs, as she and Nick spend time together, their attraction deepens. While she battles through romantic turmoil, Catherine is beleaguered with far more sinister concerns: a series of unexplainable misfortunes that are not mere accidents. With her heart on the line, Catherine discovers her life is in jeopardy, and she has no idea who the perpetrator is but she has a growing suspicion that the danger might be connected to whatever secrets lie hidden in her ancestor's diary.

My Review:

Catherine’s Intrigue was just that! I was completely intrigued and this book had me hook, line, and sinker. People, seriously, I had no regard for the fact that I had to wake up to an alarm the next day! Who does that? Well, a person who gets sucked into a book and cannot possibly find their way out until it ends. That was how Catherine’s Intrigue was for me. It was a modern day LDS regency novel with a murder plot to boot. What wasn’t in this book? I am pretty sure it covers it all! I couldn't stop reading it, it was so good. The sibling relationship, the connection she is trying to find to her long lost ancestor, the journal she cannot decipher, all of these things plus one handsome neighbor who happens to be a lord make for an even better story!  One of my favorites of the year, Catherine’s Intrigue is a definite read for fans of LDS romance with a side of danger and suspense!

Emma and Jane LDS DVD Blog Tour & Giveaway

Movie Synopsis:

JANE & EMMA is based on the life of Sister Jane Manning, one of the first black Mormons. She returns to Nauvoo to find that Joseph Smith, her prophet and friend, has been assassinated. Jane spends a ceaseless night with his widow, Emma Smith, sitting watch over the body of the prophet as a whirlwind of loss and confusion leaves them wondering how either one of them will be able to move forward. Through the long night, Jane wonders if the prophet’s promise to extend the blessings of eternity to her has died along with him. The film explores the possible events of that night, including Jane’s endeavor to remain amongst the Mormon people and Emma’s struggle to cope with her heartbreaking loss. Poignant issues of racism and polygamy threaten to break their bond of friendship. In the end, will Jane and Emma have the courage to follow the path each believes they must take?

My Review:

The story told is dramatic and emotional, pure and raw. There were points when I was brought to tears. This was an unknown story to me and it definitely piqued my interest to study Jane Manning's story. In fact, I began reading up on her during the movie because I was so interested in her life. I would love to be able to read her journal.  Not everything in the movie is historically accurate, but the emotional story told brings the viewer into a unique perspective of the early church that many have not even considered before.

Sanctuary by Traci Hunter Abramson, Blog Tour & Giveaway!

Book Summary:

Kristi Hartinger has come to terms with her life as a single, thirty-something woman. She was in love . . . once. But following her boyfriend's tragic death, no one else could capture her heart. And nothing else could fill that void, though the serenity of the ocean came close. Two years ago, Kristi left the craziness of her Wall Street career behind and embraced a simpler life on her family's private island off the coast of Maine. As a resident of the small beach community, she anticipates a quiet future—until she comes face-to-face with her past.

Ace Samson is dead, or so the world believes. As a member of a secret organization known as the guardians, he was forced to fake his death years ago, leaving everything behind when he became an agent. So when he is selected to offer a potential new recruit a job with the organization, Ace braces himself: for the first time in more than a decade, he must face the woman he loved—and left.

Kristi's world is rocked by Ace's sudden reappearance, and she's soon drawn into his world of danger and cover-up. But when Kristi herself becomes a target, Ace will do whatever it takes to protect the only woman he has ever loved.

My Review:

Abramson always delivers a fast-paced and action-packed novel and Sanctuary is no exception! I love how Abramson sets the story and she has you glued from the get-go! I have been waiting patiently for Ace to get his story so I was beyond excited when I learned this book was coming out. This is definitely a suspense novel you do not want to miss! Edge of your seat, anxious, trying to figure out what is going on...this book is on hit and one you will be glad you sat down to read! But make sure you have time on your hands when you do sit down, because once you start reading, you will not be able to stop! Bravo to Abramson!

Happy Reading!!!
