An Unexpected Date by Susan Hatler

Image
About the book: Holly loves living in her cozy mountain town and all the surrounding beauty soothes her soul. She treasures beading jewelry for her own small business while watching nature and its amazing creatures outside her window. But, her mom begs her to move back to the city so she can find a man to marry. Holly doesn’t want to give up on her dreams, but does that mean she’ll have to give up on love? My Review: Small, yet very satisfying, this short novella does not lack!   Just because it is short, don't discount it!  Holly's story is one you will enjoy reading.  An Unexpected Date is like a mini dessert you order at the end of your meal, it hits the spot!  If you need a great way to end your day, this little book is just the treat you are looking for!  (I would love it if Ms. Hatler decided to make this one a full-length novel)  Five stars!***** You can pick up the book via amazon here. Happy Reading!!! Source:  Autho...

Tempest Unleashed by Tracy Deebs

About the book: Tempest Maguire is happy with her decision to embrace her mermaid nature and live among her mother’s clan within the ocean’s depths. Even though training to one day ascend the throne for the aging mermaid queen is rigorous, she finds refuge in the arms of Kona, the selkie who first opened her up to her mermaid side. But when word comes that one of her brothers has been gravely injured on land, Tempest immediately rushes to his side—which also brings her back to her old flame, Mark. And in her absence, a deadly battle begins raging at the hands of Tempest’s old nemesis, the sea witch Tiamat. As the dangerous war erupts, Tempest’s two loves—Kona and Mark, sea and land—will collide for the first time, both to protect her and to force her to choose. The Last Seer and the Tomb of Enoch by Ashland Menshouse

Image
About the book: Do you believe? Can a ghost haunt more than your home? Can a Sasquatch track more than footprints? Aubrey Taylor's quaint and cozy life in the subdued, Appalachian town of Lake Julian had never been exceptional. Shouldered by his lifelong friends, Buzz Reiselstein and Rodriqa Auerbach, he quietly endured the puerile punishments of a persistent pack of pesky bullies that included the most-feared kid in school, Magnos Strumgarten, and his own obnoxiously, well-accomplished brother, Gaetan. Comfortable in his humdrum niche of the absolutely average, Aubrey never pushed back. Until...fate dug a little too deep...and the unseen darkness of unspoken places rattled his mediocrity. When spurious specters and elusive mountain men battle for a tomb of Watchers, buried in ages past, only those who choose to look beyond the surface feel the grip of the ancients' revenge. Unusual disappearances, a colorful cadre of insightful townsfolk...

When the unthinkable happens, Raine's world is shattered and Hayden wonders if she will ever be okay again. He is bound and determined to heal her battered soul with his love. But will it be enough? My Review: Whenever I need a quick pick-me-up from a book, I know I can always turn to one of Jewel Adams' novelettes!  Still His Woman pulled me in right from the start.  I love Raine and Hayden, they were a couple that I felt like I knew.  Raine's sadness and inadequate feelings of not being able to bear more children is heart-wrenching and her emotions and perspective translated well througho...
